Changes to AP Exam Fees for 2017-2018 School Year

Changes to AP Exam Fees for 2017-2018 School Year
Posted on 07/20/2017
AP College Board AP ProgramOver the past few years, RUSD has participated in the Advanced Placement (AP) Test Fee Reimbursement, to protect and expand AP access for low-income students. The program helped RUSD offset the overall cost of paying for all AP exams taken by all students.

Unfortunately, this state program ended in June 2016. In order to continue our commitment to expanding access and opportunities to college and career for all students, RUSD applied and was awarded a 3-year state grant called the College Readiness Block Grant (CRBG).  CRBG will allow RUSD to improve and develop programs that support all students taking an AP course. The AP program will be supported with additional academic counseling services and expanded summer programs. CRBG will continue to pay for AP exams for our unduplicated students. Unduplicated students are students whose families qualify for free-reduced priced meals, are currently designated as English Learners or are Foster Youth.

Beginning with the 2017-18 school year, all other students will be required to pay for each AP exam they decide to take. Please visit with your school counselor or AP coordinator for more information.

We sincerely hope that your student considers taking an AP course in order to set them on the path to college and career readiness! It is our desire that all students continue to take advantage of the many college and career opportunities offered by Riverside Unified School District.
