Reapply for Nutrition Services Meal Program by September 23, 2019.

Each school year, RUSD households must reapply for the Nutrition Services Meal Program to receive benefits for their student(s).  If you reapplied in person with the Poly Kitchen Staff as part of your Poly Registration Process, your student’s meal program will continue uninterrupted.

If your household still needs to complete the reapplication process, your student’s eligibility status from the 2018-2019 school year will continue into the 2019-2020 school year for the next 30 school days, or until Nutrition Services processes your new household’s new application, or your student is otherwise certified free or reduced-price for meals.

If your household fails to submit a new application or reapply for Nutrition Services within the next 30 days of the 2019-2020 school year, your student will have to pay full price for meals, unless the household receives a notification letter for free or reduced-price meals.

Please note, RUSD households may submit applications at any time during the school year.  For example, if your family is not eligible now, but your household income goes down, household size goes up, or a household member starts receiving CalFresh, CalWORKs, or FDPIR, you may turn in an application at that time through Nutrition Services.  In addition, if your household receives Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) benefits, your student(s)  may be eligible for free or reduced-price meals by filling out the application.  Furthermore, foster children are eligible for free meals and may be included as a household member, if the foster family chooses to also apply for the non-foster children on the same application.  Including any foster children as a household member may also help non-foster children qualify for free or reduced-price meals, too. If a non-foster children is deemed ineligible, this does not keep foster children from receiving free meal services.

Nutrition Services Applications are available online and can be completed now for the 2019-2020 school year by visiting

Applications are normally processed within 3 business days.  If Nutrition Services needs additional information or documentation, they will notify you through your provided contact information.
