Joshua Vargas; Joshua Sullivan; Rachel Heil (Class of 2019)Poly High School is pleased to announce today that Joshua Vargas, Joshua Sullivan and Rachel Heil have been named as "Commended Students" in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program.  They will be receiving a formal Letter of Commendation from Dr. Roe, Poly High School and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, at a future date in recognition of these three scholastically talented seniors within the Class of 2019.

About 34,000 commended students throughout the nation are recognized for their exceptional academic promise.  Although each of them will not continue in the 2019 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students place among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students who enter the competition by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

From the NMSC..."These commended students represent a valuable national resource; we recognize their accomplishments, as well as the key role their K-12 schools play in their academic development.  We hope this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success."

Congratulations Josh, Josh and Rachel...keep reaching for your dreams inside and outside the classroom!
