Mr. Ulises Romero
Ulises Romero has dedicated 25 years to education with 24 of those years in RUSD, He started his career as a classroom teacher in RUSD where he taught for 15 years. Many of you know him as Mr. Romero from Victoria (10 years) or Sr. Romero from Castle View (2 years). He has since served in various capacities as an administrator for over 10 years, including Assistant Principal at Liberty, Monroe, Jefferson, and Longfellow Elementary schools. Most recently, Ulises spent the last three years as the Assistant Principal at Frank Augustus Miller Middle School. Throughout his career, Ulises has been driven by a clear, student-centered approach, consistently advocating for student self-efficacy and empowering students to recognize their value and strive for their personal best. He models and lives his life believing that true greatness is derived through hard work, dedication and perseverance.
Ulises has been blessed with three wonderful children that attend or attended RUSD schools. His two oldest children, Danny and Gabriela, are Poly graduates who have gone on to earn degrees in Computer Programming from California State University of Monterey Bay and Human Biology from the University of California San Diego. His youngest son, David, is at Gage and is slated to attend Poly in about two years as he is in the Dual Language Immersion program.
Ulises received his B.A. in Liberal Studies, a multiple subject BCLAD credential, a Masters in Institutional Leadership and Policy Studies as well as his administrative credential from the University of California Riverside. Ulises brings positive, productive energy that helps students, staff and families feel respected and valued.
