Laura Nelson has been an employee of RUSD for 33 years. During this time, she has held several positions-elementary teacher and elementary literacy coach, high school teacher in the English and Special Education Departments as a reading specialist and a site literacy coach, and a high school assistant principal. She holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. Laura Nelson is a Riverside native who received her Bachelor's degree and teaching credentials from our own UCR. She is a wife and mother of two adult children who began their successful careers with a strong educational foundation in RUSD. Laura Nelson's passion is to create a learning environment in which all stakeholders feel valued, safe, and successful.
